Hydrometeorology and Hydroclimatology

Studies in hydrology include research on:

  1. the influence of moisture, energy, and momentum exchanges at the land-atmosphere interface on weather and climate variability,
  2. the role of coupled water and energy cycles on variability and predictability of both regional and global climate
  3. impacts of global change as well as interannual variability on climate-sensitive socioeconomic activities
  4. the role of the terrestrial and oceanic ecosystems on the climate and geochemical cycles
  5. influence of surficial processes on the evolution of atmospheric boundary layers and hazardous weather
  6. remote sensing and data assimilation approaches to large-scale monitoring of hydroclimate variables.
