Hydrometeorology and Hydroclimatology
Studies in hydrology include research on:
- the influence of moisture, energy, and momentum
exchanges at the land-atmosphere interface on weather and
climate variability,
- the role of coupled water and energy cycles on
variability and predictability of both regional and global
climate
- impacts of global change as well as interannual
variability on climate-sensitive socioeconomic activities
- the role of the terrestrial and oceanic ecosystems on
the climate and geochemical cycles
- influence of surficial processes on the evolution of
atmospheric boundary layers and hazardous weather
- remote sensing and data assimilation approaches to
large-scale monitoring of hydroclimate variables.
